Digital Design and Visualization III - Advanced Design / Portfolio Development

During this double period course, students will simulate a variety of professional roles.  At times, they will be situated as designers.  In this capacity they will call upon their experiences and skills to engage in the process of designing buildings, industrial products, interactive media, or some other designed objects and/or spaces. At other times, they will be situated as commercial artists.  During these times, they will engage in the process necessary to produce promotional materials for their designed products.  These explorations will yield web and print based portfolios to help students prepare for admission to post-secondary academic programs or the workforce.

Students continue to learn concepts of visualization, design, and presentation. They are introduced to CGI tools that allow them to simulate light, materiality, and motion.  They are encouraged to develop a personal style in a studio setting that encourages creativity and independent thought.  Students who complete this course will be provided with the opportunity to earn industry standard certification in digital design technology.
